The Diari de Girona has reported on the launch of the House of Non-Discrimination, a dedicated space we have established in the city to provide guidance and support to individuals who experience discrimination.
The new service has been created in a context marked by growing polarization and the normalization of narratives that question fundamental rights and single out vulnerable groups. In response, we have promoted a municipal resource aimed at supporting people affected by discrimination based on origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, or disability.
As highlighted in the newspaper’s coverage, many discriminatory incidents never reach formal reporting channels, often due to fear, lack of trust, or limited awareness of available mechanisms. The House of Non-Discrimination seeks to offer a specialized and approachable environment that helps lower these barriers and improve effective access to rights.
Beyond direct support, the initiative also aims to collect information and shed light on situations that frequently remain invisible. Through this project, we reaffirm our commitment to building a more inclusive, fair, and respectful city where diversity is recognized as a shared value.
